Event videography - my experience

I teamed up with KórházSuli back in September, when the 4th KórházSuli Conference took place. I was asked if I'd make a short video of the event, and sure I said yes! But how to make an event video? Here are my thoughts. The first important thing is to know the location. The best thing that can happen is if the event's organized at a place that you already know. In my case that was my school, which made my tasks much easier. If you are not familiar with a location, just go there the day before the event, to have an idea of the space, the lights, etc. Also now you should know what equipment you are going to bring with you. The second task is to shoot at the event. There isn't much to say about that really, you have to make the most out of it. Of course, it helps if you know how to shoot motion picture, but this topic isn't about this type of technical parts. The first FX body! - what happened before the decision?

Well, it's very hard to explain what I feel now. I'm a lucky and proud owner of a D600 - but it hasn't been the case until this week. Very fresh experiences straight from a new FX owner! Okay, so I started to take photography more seriously in April 2017. I was using my dad's Nikon D50 with a 18-55mm kit lens and a 70-300mm Tamron tele-macro lens. Of course, I fell in love with the Tamron, since I could take more professional looking pictures with it than with the kit lens (actually nearly anything gives better quality photos than the kit lens). The D50 only has a 3008x2000 pixels resolution (6.1 megapixel), which, to be honest isn't that much in 2017. I must admit I could take absolutely okay pictures with it, but for a res-whore like me it wasn't much. The first FX body! - a true gamechanger

Well, it's very hard to explain what I feel now. I'm a lucky and proud owner of a D600 - but it hasn't been the case until this week. Very fresh experiences straight from a new FX owner! So, after the day I sold the D3200 with its accessories I already had a meeting, where I was going to see a D600. I was chatting with the seller on Facebook, and I asked her if she had a lens that I could try the camera out with, just to see what kind of image does it produce. My biggest surprise was that she had the exact same lens that I was willing to buy to mount on the new body - and it was for sale too! The camera had about 142.000 expos, which can sound a bit too much at first glance, but I've read several threads on forums, where the users said they're using their D600 far over 300.000 expos without any problems, so I thought that's not a deal-breaker. And sure it wasn't: I bought both the D600 and the Nikon 50mm 1.8G for less than $1000, which is a pretty damn g...
